Villard's American business StartUSA is based in Minneapolis, led by Eivind Heiberg. He has lived and worked in the US for 37 years, including 11 as CEO of the century-old financial institution Sons of Norway, and serves as Honorary Consul General of Norway in Minnesota. We have access to American institutions, US operators, and investor networks that Nordic firms rarely reach from the outside. Selectively available to our clients.

Minneapolis is our base for a specific reason. Minnesota is one of the most business-friendly states in the country. It is also the center of Norwegian-American life in the US — a community that, counted across the country, is comparable in size to the population of the home nation. We chose this location because it works, and we follow our clients wherever their US opportunities take them.
